Here’s the fifth in my series of tips showing you how to get the best portraits on your travels. People shots make up a large proportion of our photo archive as they provide human interest, tell us about places and cultures and can really create that wow factor.

Tip 5: Seeing the light: Be aware of the direction of the light – make sure your subject’s face is illuminated well – also it’s great when the light source puts a shine in their eyes.
