These incredible furry primates were photographed by Matthew Williams-Ellis on his recent trip to Madagascar. Lemurs are endemic to this island off the South East coast of Africa, evolving in isolation from the rest of the world and without much competition in the form of predators. There are over 100 species and subspecies, however many are now endangered due to rainforest destruction.
