Of course, the more you practice the luckier you become.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure style=\"width: 801px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.robertharding.com\/preview\/764-5931\/african-elephant-loxodonta-africana-baby-running-ears-out\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.robertharding.com\/preview\/RM\/RH\/VERTICAL\/764-5931.jpg\" alt=\"Close up of baby African elephant running\" width=\"801\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">African Elephant (Loxodonta africana), baby running with its ears out, Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa, Africa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>James uses a Canon DSLR system with prime and zoom lenses that range from 17mm to 500mm. For subjects like these elephants, he more commonly uses his telephoto lenses, so as to be able to shoot from a distance.\u00a0 \u201cThe 500mm telephoto is my main wildlife lens because it not only gives me a good reach to photograph skittish subjects, but the narrow field of view helps me control the background,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you want to make a living as a nature photographer, it must be your passion,&#8221; he adds. &#8220;It must be something you are driven to do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a
