We chose some of our favourite photos of the ceremony at Lalibela in Northern Ethiopia, one of the country&#8217;s holiest cities and among the best places to attend the event.<\/p>\n<p><a More than 80 percent are Orthodox Christians. One of the most important Orthodox holidays is Timkat. It is a three day celebration. It reminds the people of John the Baptists blessing of Christ in the River Jordan.
