Here’s the second in my\u00a0series of top\u00a0photo-tips for all you aspiring travel photographers out there.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0Use a figure in the frame to emphasise scale.<\/strong> When photographing natural wonders and huge,\u00a0epic landscapes, a person can help create a sense of wonder.<\/em><\/p>\n

8. Find new ways to photograph iconic subjects.\u00a0<\/strong>People will always want to see photos of famous sites, but we tire of seeing the same old\u00a0compositions. Capture some unusual foreground interest to show the subject in a new light.<\/em><\/p>\n

9. Get down low to create dynamic images.<\/strong> This adds drama to your shot,\u00a0makes people seem heroic and gets rid of the problem of background clutter.<\/em><\/p>\n

10. Capture compelling details that say something about a place.<\/strong> In particular, food, textiles, architectural details can all capture the\u00a0essence of a destination.<\/em><\/p>\n

11.\u00a0Look for graphic compositions and eye-catching repetition.<\/strong> Some of the most striking photos\u00a0are ones that fill the frame with abstract patterns and colour.<\/em><\/p>\n

Photograph during the ‘golden hour’ before sunset, to capture\u00a0dramatic lighting and atmosphere.\u00a0<\/strong>Have a siesta during the midday hours, when the sun\u00a0is too bright and high in the sky to get good shots. Instead,\u00a0concentrate your energies on evening time when contrast is lessened and warm light gives a beautiful glow to your subject.<\/em><\/p>\n
