1350-6257 - A nursehound (Scyliorhinus stellaris) watches closely a group of small cod passing by. Shot taken off Chioggia (VE) on one of the many rocky formations developed in the seabed of the upper Adriatic, called Tegnue. These bio-sediments are similar to coral reefs and for this reason they are also called Adriatic coral reefs.
1350-43 - The 13.7-day-old Moon (a day before Full) with the south polar region tipped toward us in a favourable libration for viewing the southern regions and features. This was April 6, 2020. The large crater, Bailly, is on the southern limb, better seen here than at most similar phases, due to the favourable southern libration.

1350-54 - The Hyades star cluster with the red giant star Aldebaran (looking yellow here) in Taurus the bull in the winter sky. The field is similar to what a pair of large binoculars would show. I shot this from home Nov. 25, 2019.
1350-682 - Black soldier flies are common and widespread fly of the family Stratiomyidae. Neither the larvae nor adults are considered pests or vectors. Instead, black soldier fly larvae play a similar role to that of redworms as essential decomposers in breaking down organic substrates and returning nutrients to the soil/environment.

This is a stack of 5 x 4 minute exposures at f/2 with the 135mm lens and modified Canon 5D MkII at ISO 800, plus another three similar exposure images but taken thru the Kenko Softon filter for the star glows.
