Peter Walton

Peter Walton

As a teenager Peter hitchhiked around Eastern Australia with his camera shooting everything that interested him. He went on to become a successful commercial photographer. Clients were mainly advertising agencies, graphic designers and PR companies. Prior to the digital revolution Peter operated a successful film based image library, Australian Scenics, which was eventually absorbed by Getty Images. For the past 20 years travel photography has been his real passion. He has escorted numerous photo tours for the travel company World Expeditions. He has several Australian travel books to his credit, the best-known being “Australia’s Most Scenic Drives”, a 368 page motoring guide published by Readers Digest. It sold over 200,000 copies. Much of Peter’s inspiration came from studying the work of world famous photographers like David Muench, Galen Rowell, Joe Cornish, Steve McCurry and Ansel Adams.
