While Dubai is known for its shiny, ultramodern skyscrapers and luxury shopping, reminders of its desert heritage are never far away. Travel photographer Alexandre Rotenberg explored off-road dune riding in the pristine desert landscape beyond the city, and encountered camels adorned in traditional fabrics on Dubai’s urban beaches. Alexandre won the Telegraph Big Picture Photography Competition, and was shortlisted in the Royal Photographic Society Competition, as well as the Travel Photographer of the Year 2015.
