In the seventh in my series of tips on how to get the best people shots on your travels, here is a classic rule that will help you get really strong portraits.

Tip 7: Use a short depth of field to make the person stand out from a blurred background. You can do this by using an f-stop of around 2.8. Also, using a zoom lens can have the effect of blowing out the background (making it appear blurred) in a very pleasing way.
